FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Professional Organizer?
A Professional Organizer is someone who provides ideas, information, structure, solutions and systems, which could increase productivity, reduce stress and lead to more control over time, space and activities.
I don't have time for this service. How can you help me?
If you spend any time searching for a lost item in your home or office, you don't have time NOT to spend with a professional organizer. The amount of stress caused by searching for items makes the time spent with an organizer invaluable.
How much time does the process take?
That all depends on the amount of space you have to be organized. If you have several closets and a kitchen, organizing could take days. If on the other hand, you have a small area, it could take a few hours. Most organizers cannot give a timeline prior to the process because it is unknown.
Do I have to be there when you're organizing?
Most definitely. In order to organize to your specifications and most convenient ease-of-use, you must be there during the process. Organizers do the physical work and tailor solutions to your needs but cannot make decisions for you regarding what to keep or discard. Plus, you will probably find items you forgot you had.
How can I resell valuable items we find?
Depending of the condition and value of items to be sold, we work with websites, consignment shops and thrift stores. If a designer item is "like-new," will work with online stores, and consignment shops to get you the most money for the items. If however, items are not worthy of resale but are still in good condition, I will deliver them to thrift stores, so you can receive a tax credit.
How do I mantain the organized setup?
Maintenance is simple, providing you do your part. When the organizing process is complete, everything will have a place. You must return items to their places each time you remove them to maintain the new system. Otherwise, you will end up with an unmanageable pile, which you have to take more time to put back. If you put things back in place after each use, you will spend 60 seconds a day as opposed to 60 minutes that you could be doing something fun.
